Last Saturday I was invited by the organizers of Fiesta Queen 2016 to take photos of their candidates. Without hesitation , I took the offer and started shooting these ten gorgeous ladies. At first I was quite nervous as it was my first time doing an official photo shoot for a beauty pageant. I love pageants and I love photography. Putting them in one is like heaven for me!
Now, this not your ordinary beauty pageant as this is participated not by women but by our beautiful gay sisters in the LGBT community. Yes you heard me right. They we're born males but have blossomed into beautiful fairies.
The good thing about spending time with these kind of people is that you will be amazed of the very strong facade that they project yet the gentleness of character that they posses once you get to know them.
It is always fun and bubbly when they are around and it's always an amazing experience. The enthusiasm , the humor and the dedication they put into their endeavors will keep you inspired all through out. Such a class and vibrant act.
This batch is a truly hard one to follow. I hope by next year they will have an even more exciting set of candidates. I love this batch and I will always treasure these moments with them.
This is the first of this Pageant. Fiesta Queen is a pageant in celebration of the different fiestas celebrated in Cebu. Each candidate is a Queen representing a certain province. So without any further ado, let me introduce you to this year's candidates .
Here's another set of their pictorial which is more reflective of their personality.
The most challenging part for me is choosing who will be this year's Miss Photogenic. I was given the privilege to decide who is going to bag that award and as of this writing I still can't make up my mind.
I have about three or four that I find really stunning in this batch but as to who will get the award, I still have to check every single photo and see who is consistently beautiful. I would also need your help in making a decision.
Thank you in advance Everyone! and Good Luck to the Candidates!
