Anne and Kaira Camera Used: Nikon D5100, 18-55mm Lens
So I had the privilege to do a photo shoot with two veteran models. Anne and Kai , Both have been featured already in some amateur and professional photographers’ portfolios and I feel honored working with them. As usual I tagged along Pee Jay’s group for this. As you all know, I'm new at this stuff so I try to grab all the experiences I can get. Well, this has got to be the most troublesome photo session ever. I practically messed up the settings of my cam and had to deal with it on the spot. Luckily ,I had a few takes that I like and with some help from my Cam’s editing features , I am able to produce these shots.
Anne has one of those few faces that looks very angelic and refined both on and off cam. Her make up was done by a good friend of mine, Jamiel Nuñez who gave her a natural and fresh look. The challenge with Ann's face despite it's beautiful nature is that it looks bigger on Cam so I had to find the right angle to capture those beautiful features. She's got a very small face in person and I'd like to give justice to that. I wish had more time to take pictures with her. It was a really brief photo shoot and I never really had the guts to tell what I want her to project. I guess that is the downside when you are with other photographers, you get a little hesitant on your ideas with the fear that it might not work.
But Ann is a natural, despite the odds, she's able to pull it off giving me these pictures. I'm not sure if she would love these , but I tried , with all my power to find the most beautiful facets of her. Actually the third one on top is my favorite shot, that's a candid shot and she probably didn't realize I was taking a shot of her. It simply captures her innocence and showcases her beautiful and cute face.
Kai was born to pose and project in front of the camera. Having her as a subject is an easy breezy experience. You don't have to tell her what to do, she just gives her best angles and all you have to do is click the camera. I know this girl will go a long way. Very Natural, Sexy and Sultry not to mention she's easy to deal with and a pleasure to work with. With her you can capture sensuality and innocence in one photograph.
I was really worried when it was her turn, not only was I told that she was good , she's also preferred by photographers to model for them. She has been doing this for quite a while now and I was quite pressured by the standard that has been set. So I had to look at my photos time after time to check if I have captured every bit of beauty. Luckily I had a few that left me breathless. I hope she'd like these or at least just one from them. hehehe :)
What makes a person really adorable is not only what's on the outside but what's on the inside as well. Working with her made me realize that nice people are naturally nice . I guess it's her bubbly personality that made the experience worthwhile. She can bring smiles to our faces by doing her crazy antics , that probably is the reason why photographers love her. There is no dull moment, you just laugh and laugh and produce good pictures.
On Color Tones...
So this entire set is all about color tones, I bet it's obvious by now. The extreme color contrast and the strong color saturation and the different color tones you see in every picture would actually tell you the extreme emotions I felt doing the shoot. It was a mixture of hesitation, dissapointment ( because my cam settings got messed up), apprehension , confusion, pressure and excitement. All these elements led me to produce these shots which I think is a good thing. Had I not felt these, I won't be able to explore this side of photographic arts. So it's a blessing in disguise and a learning experience as well.
So thank you Anne and Kai for sharing your time and making the world see how beautiful you both are. I am glad to have met you in this little intersection of life. Till we meet again.
